Performance, strength and durability for heavy-duty environments

High Pressure Laminate

HPL (High Pressure Laminate) is the most widely used material for furniture and partition systems in changing rooms and collective environments. Lockers, partitions, toilet cubicles and shower enclosures are typical applications where long-term reliability and resistance to intensive use are essential.

HPL is a high-pressure stratified material made from layers of kraft paper impregnated with thermosetting resins and finished with a decorative melamine surface. This structure provides a compact and stable panel with good mechanical strength and durability.

From an application standpoint, HPL is particularly suitable for environments exposed to humidity, frequent cleaning cycles and heavy use. Its non-porous surface does not absorb water or dirt, making maintenance easier and supporting high hygiene standards.

The material also offers a high degree of design flexibility. Panels can be processed in different configurations and integrated into modular systems, adapting to a wide range of layouts and project requirements.

Key characteristics include:

  • resistance to moisture and cleaning agents
  • compact, non-porous surface
  • good impact and wear resistance
  • easy cleaning and maintenance
  • long-term dimensional stability
  • wide range of finishes and colours

Solid Surface

Solid Surface is an advanced composite material made of acrylic resins and natural mineral fillers, mainly used for continuous surfaces such as countertops, washbasins and wall cladding.
Its main advantage lies in its workability. The material can be thermoformed and shaped into complex geometries, allowing the creation of seamless surfaces without visible joints. This makes it particularly suitable for projects where visual continuity and clean design are required.
From a functional perspective, Solid Surface is non-porous and easy to clean, preventing the absorption of liquids and supporting high hygiene standards. This makes it suitable for environments such as bathrooms and other spaces where cleanliness is a key requirement.
Another important benefit is maintainability. Surface scratches or minor damages can be repaired without replacing the entire element, extending the product’s lifecycle.
Key characteristics include:
• seamless surfaces without visible joints
• high design flexibility and formability
• non-porous and hygienic material
• resistance to stains and chemicals
• repairable surface
• wide range of colours and finishes

Sandwich panel

Sandwich panels are a technical solution designed to achieve higher structural rigidity while optimising weight.
CEL Components has been manufacturing sandwich panels for over 30 years, with consolidated expertise in composite materials across sectors such as construction, transport and interior applications.
For changing room furniture and partition systems, a typical configuration includes a total thickness of approximately 36 mm, with a foam core and HPL outer skins. This structure provides higher stiffness and stability compared to solid panels, while maintaining a balanced weight-to-performance ratio.
Sandwich panels are particularly suitable for applications where larger surfaces, increased rigidity or a higher perceived quality are required.
Key characteristics include:
• high structural rigidity
• reduced weight compared to solid panels
• dimensional stability on large surfaces
• compatibility with HPL finishes
• suitable for premium or custom projects
